Can I use Radiant (Hydronic) Heating
Yes, I want ultimate comfort in my home. How do we start?
Once you have determined your energy source, and ensured that all installation requirements can be met such as: adequate electrical or natural gas supply, chimney or vent requirements, clearances, drains etc.
Make certain construction requirements such floor joist requirements for concrete, extra floor plate (upsized) for over pour applications, location of mechanical room and manifolds with necessary clearances etc. As well as insulation and vapour barrier requirements etc.
Preliminary Planning Stage:
- Supply your plans along with specific details including any expansion joints and/ or floor joist specifics.
- Decide methods and location of piping (in slab joist space over sub floor, over pour Joist space or slab on frame or slab)
- R value of walls and windows, flooring type (including hardwood direction for some applications) etc.
- Desired Options Relating to Design such as multiple thermostats, multiple temperatures, domestic hot water heating, supplemental form of heat or sole form of heat? Etc.
Design:
Now we can make a Custom design providing all the necessary information that you need including:
- Heat requirements for each room which determines spacing and lengths of loops, boiler, pump and expansion tank sizing.
- Determine if additional heat may be required. All designs include recommended room by room loop drawings.
- And suggested mechanical room layout per Teca standards.
Installation:
If Canadian Radiant Design is installing your system we will install the complete system from rough in piping and wiring, mechanical room installation to testing and setup.
