Hydronic Compared to Forced Air

Hydronic Radiant compared to Forced Air

Forced air would be more comfortable if you could stand upside down on the ceiling. Air temperatures are typically 20 or 30 degrees higher at the ceiling!  You can easily feel this without a thermometer just by swishing your hand through the air at floor level compared to ceiling level.

This temperature difference is opposite to where people are most comfortable. Combined with the furnace cycling on and off it often feels too cool or too hot when the air is circulating as the furnace goes through its heating cycle.
No wonder occupants frequently adjust the thermostat trying to get comfortable.

Forced air also is often
Noisy
Drafty
Circulates dust and allergens
Invasive - Ducts and large vents are invasive to your space

Hydronic radiant is extremely comfortable, very quiet, no drafts and energy efficient with radiant warmth at floor level and actually lower at ceiling level.
Hydronic radiant uses small pipes to circulate hot fluid  to quietly and evenly heat the whole floor surface for the ultimate in comfort.
