Cut in managable lengths outside the attic, or roll it out in the attic.
Loosly lay barrier directly on the attic floor, overlap seams, taping seams is not required. Do not block soffits. Product can be crinkled or creased to minimize contact with insulation effectively providing an air gap for most of the surface.

Roof truss installation - staple to bottom of roof truss
May be slightly more efficient in summer, slightly less efficient in winter
